When faced with such a terrible and cataclysmic loss, we are haunted by things we are unable to understand. Why us? Why our loved ones? Why now? The solace we seek will arise from neither the questions we ask nor the answers we seek. We therefore look for consolation and succour in our strongest belief in love’s eternal bond and the knowledge that those whom we love never truly leave us.

May that love lift you and hold you close, and give you peace and may you take comfort in knowing there are now more angels watching over us.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I stand with all to observe a moment of silence for the loss of our loved ones. It may be really hard to comprehend whatever happens on this earth, but sometimes, God always has the master plan of whatever happens on this earth. I guess He has a really good reason for all this…. But i guess there is always a bright light at the end of the tunnel… I can see the light at the end of this one…

may the good Lord Comfort and give peace to all those who lost their dear ones… R.I.P all who lost their lives…

I also observe a moment of sad silence, mourning the loss of our loved ones, worldwide.
I think God has a master plan for everything that happens to us… And in this case I bet he has a really good plan for all.
And I will say, hat in my few years I have always seen a very bright light at the end of a so dark and miserable tunnel. I see the light in this too…
R.I.P our loved ones and may God Bless your souls.
And for the ones who lost their very dear ones, may the Good Lord grant you peace and comfort, and understanding.

Why us? May be the question on your minds at this time and for real there is no answer to this. All those dreams cut short at their prime. All the plans gone forever. Their smiles forever etched in our minds, the would have, the what if. All the probabilities that lay ahead stopped in mid step. The pain is too much.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. May their souls rest in peace….Someone sent me these words at a time of loss and I shall share them and pray they comfort you as they did me…

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there.
I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that swiftly blow.
I am the diamond glint on newly fallen snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the soft and gentle autumn rain.
When you wake from sleep in the early morning, hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft, starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there.
I do not sleep.

On behalf of the entire Capital in the morning team and Capital fm family, we want to send our condolences to all the bereaved families and to our nation as a whole (including the other countries affected too).

Words may not be enough to take away the pain, but the thought of all of us standing in this together, makes us stand us one.

This is our prayer to all- We pray that God will bring comfort to them, and give them the peace which passes all understanding.

We pray that in all of their grief and sadness, that they will not feel alone, but will always be conscious of the reality of Your presence with them.

We ask God to strengthen them and surround them with his love.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

A tribute to all affected,

Life is full of surprises. This was my first thought when I woke up on Saturday morning having caught a glimpse of what had happened to the Boeing 507. It struck me as a surprise. Why?? We never know what tomorrow holds. Kenya Airways is our motherland brand and no one should blame the other even with the loss. Instead we should be happy for the lives each and everyone who was in the ill fated plane lived.

I also think CEO Titus Naikuni did an outstanding job informing us on what had happened to the plane earlier on. This message goes to all who lost their beloveds and Kenya airways.

WE NEED THE VICTIMS MORE BUT GOD NEEDS THOSE MOST. We pray that their souls rest in eternal peace.

Goodbyes are not forever
And nor is it the end
When angels come to call away
A loved one or a friend.

The empty place that’s left behind
Within this world we know
Reminds us just how brief a stay
We have before we go.

So when it’s time to bid farewell
To one we’ll dearly miss
Let’s just say we’ll meet again
And promise them with this…

The true gift is that love remains
Although we now must part..
Until forever and beyond
I’ll keep you in my heart.

NEVER ELONE

I feel you in the morning
When at first I awake
Your thought is with me
With each decision I make

You’d been around forever
Since the first breath I took
Now I have to go on alone
But for love, I need not look

Cause by what you bestowed
In our short time together
Will last in my heart
Forever and ever

Although you’ve left
And now walk above
I’m never alone
I’m wrapped in your love

Enjoy now your long waited reward
Feel peace that your love continues on
What was taught to me, will be taught to mine
Cause you live on in me even after you’ve gone

GOODBYE, MY BROTHER

My brother Greg an awesome guy,
I don’t know why you had to die.
You were so cute as a little boy,
You smiled at us and brought us joy.

Even though we had our little fights,
Over silly things like phone lines and wiring lights,
I never wanted to be a pest,
I needed your skills, cause you’re the best.

I’m glad those times, were only a few,
It was hard for me to argue with you,
But that’s just me, as you are you,
And in the end you always came through.

This is Lanesville where you are from,
We all are here with Deb and Mom,
Our hearts are broken, as you know,
We really can’t bear to let you go.

Sometimes you were so crazy and loony,
Especially with the friends who call you “Cooney”,
I know that everyone here will agree with me,
That the Lanesville Crew is the best there could ever be.

We wish so much that you were here,
Or just down “The Cove” havin’ a beer.
It’s happy thoughts that will get us through,
Like all the fun we shared with you.

And now my poem will come to an end,
Until the day we meet again,
I pray that you are now at peace.
Goodbye Greg With Love From JayDee

Together we mourn,May God rest their souls in eternal peace! They shall not fade away from our memeories!

At the rising of the sun and at its going down,
We remember them.

At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of Winter, We remember them.

At the opening of buds and in the rebirth of Spring,
We remember them.

At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of Summer,
We remember them.

At the rustling of leaves and the beauty of Autumn,
We remember them.

At the beginning of the year and when it ends,
We remember them.

As long as we live, they too will live;
for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.

When we are weary and in need of strength,
We remember them.

When we are lost and sick at heart,
We remember them.

When we have joys we yearn to share,
We remember them.

When we have decisions that are difficult to make,
We remember them

When we have achievements that are based on theirs,
We remember them.

As long as we live, they too shall live,
for they are a part of us, as we remember them.

God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped His arms around you
and whispered,”come to me”.
You didn’t deserve what you went through,
so God gave you a rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
And He only takes the best,
everything which happens is part of
God’s eternal plan, but blessings come in many
ways that sometymes we can’t see.

May the warmth of His embrace give
you all peace and comfort.

This tragedy is beyond comprehension, coming so soon after the Ivory Coast disaster. I’m saddened as all Kenyans are. I pray to Almighty God to give strength to all those who lost their loved ones, not just in Kenya, but all over the world. It will come to pass, even for all of us. Its only God who knows when. May He be with all the departed souls. Amen

Having flown along the same route 3 days before the tragic accident, i have the memories of the voice of the captains, the smiles of the in-flight attendants and the warm company of fellow passengers on a KQ Flight. The news of the tragic accident hit the Kenyan community in Liberia so hard, just over a month after we joyfully welcomed KQ maiden flight to Monrovia.
May the good Lord comfort all those who wont see their loved ones again. We share in your loss. My prayers are with you.

God has answers to all that we cannot understand. When the pain is too great to bear, God is willing to take over. God will sort us out as individuals and as a nation. We just need to give Him the chance because He will never force us. Only He can give us the comforting that we are looking for during these difficult times.

Miss Me, But Let Me Go
Author Unknown

When I come to the end of the road,
and the sun has set for me.
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little—but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that was once shared.
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone.
It’s all a part of the master’s plan, a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know.
Bear your sorrow in good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.

My beloved Gordon was taken by this awful tragedy.
My husband, my soul mate, my bestest friend, my lover, the father of our 4 wonderful children Helen, Stuart, Alex and Elizabeth-Anne of whom he was so proud, father to our in law children Silvano, Magda and Alexandra and Glenn and adored grandpa to our 7 grandchildren Nicholas, Timothy, Donavin and Benjaman Louise, Caleb and Ethan, my rock, my strength my reason for living (I would never have made it through last years illness without you and your strength)”you lifted me up to stand on mountains”, my inspiration and my clown – our has always been filled with laughter. I love you with every fiber of my being, from that moment we met 40 years and two months ago when I went home from Varsity and wrote in my diary “I have met the guy I am going to marry” you are my God given gift. But my greatest joy of all is that you loved me back just as much (if not more) and felt the same way about me. I know I “lifted you up to stand on mountains” because you told me so. In the final analysis this the gift you have left me at this awful time – the knowledge that love is real and surpass this tragedy and that you are no longer apart from me but we are now together as one, forever as I will carry you with me in my heart for the rest of my days. Go well my love in to that dark night. From your ever loving wife. Mairi.

“each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can fully share its joy” - King Solomon

Somewhere in the memories, longing, frustration, and sadness expressed on this page lies the magic to birth comfort, beauty and peace from the holes and shadows formed by the loss of your beloved and their loss of you. Both parties completely irreplaceable, so very unforgettable.

we refuse to forget!

For you (on the way to a satisfied mind),

Your journey is unravelling still, with every step and new strength I wish for you an abundant fire, Your eyes and your thoughts will blaze with enough hope, courage and determination to discover fulfilment, realise your goals and express yourself as best as you can, revelling in the influence, light, and accomplishments of the departed…

Most of all, I wish ‘LOVE’ for you, a vigorous and profound love.
The shocking, sacred type that makes you breathe deeper and cherish more. The kind of Love that roots the perpetual dreamer in moments like these ones when it seems as though the earth, human invention and all your common comforts have betrayed you.

…in your sorrowful hidden places with scarcely enough room for one and in silent solidarity…

To all the families….. and Kenya Airways Staff, Poleni Sana

She Dared Dream

Her first assignment, her dream, peacekeeper, sojourner in
Far exotic lands but
She was nervous, her palms sweaty
Her hands, ochre painted nails
Clutch the armrest, bangles clinking
She sends a prayer song high up
Beyond the dazzling clouds so close she
Feels their fluffy softness
As she breathes slowly the Hand
Reassuringly, graces her heart
To a slow peaceful breath
Laced with flitting halos of peace and love
She feels calm, so calm she
Doesn’t feel the blow as
She dared dream.. . . .

May You Pass on With God’s Peace

A friendhip shared, a laugh a kiss
These are but the few things we will miss

You could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Your time on earth seems all too brief
But we will not lengthen it now with undue grief

Knowing you, you’d say your life’s been complete
Good friends, good times, would never be obsolete
You took God’s hand when you heard Him call
You bid farewell, and left it all

Till we meet again.

All our love

This is a tragedy that greatly affected us all as Kenyans, not just relatives/friends/colleagues of those dear departed ones. It has been such a tragic loss and not very easy to bear BUT with God-speed and grace we will get through it. Most sincere Condolences to the families/friends and colleagues who lost dear ones in this tragedy. We are together in prayer and spirit.

Dear bereaved,
Im so sorry for your loss. The pain fills me with a great mass of loss too. Everyone who left this earth, was a special person, and God had a plan for them. Many thoughts fill my mind asking why did they go so - much - so in a strange manner, such that we could never see them whole and take them to rest in our homelands……… but as awkward as it was, it was all destined to be, and all we can do is thank God for his mercies and blessing to us and our loved ones. Let us make peace and be content with our benefits from God everyday, as when he takes us, we shall rejoys in clouds of joy, as we ride to be with him and those we loved and are now departed. All yee that are bereaved, I pray for you to find peace in your sorrowful hearts. May God be with you Amen.

I just want to thank all over here who really prayed for our families. I lost my dad and mum in it, these words are really encourging to live on.

I feel the water trickle down my cheek
when i think of my dad and mum
who would never be around to check us
I feel my heart go heavy
when i know that my dad and mum
would never be there to hold me
when I am down.
I feel all alone and blue
when I know my dad and mum
will not be around
ITS BREAKING MY HEART WHEN I FEEL THAT MY DAD AND MUM ARE NO MORE.
I WISH THEY WILL BE BACK.
I STILL WISH THEY WILL COME BACK
COZ THEY KNOW HOW MUCH WE 4 SONS MISS THEM AND HOW MUCH THEY WILL MISS US TOO.

WE LOVE YOU DAD AND MUM
YOU WERE THE BEST
YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST AND THE DEAREST.
LOVE YOU DAD
LOVE YOU MUM
MISS YOU BOTH A LOT
LIKE I MISS MY LIFE NOW.

It still feels like yesterday and one can only imagine what the families are going through, agonising about what their loved ones went through in their final moments as the plane went down. The all knowing God will help you through this sad ordeal, for He would never have brought you to it to leave you. Trust in His ability to wipe the tears and soothe the pain.

Dear Dad and Mom…
I feel you are alive though reality seems very bitter and sour…
Whenever I wake up..I feel its the morning of 6th May 2007,that i feel you’ll be back home….
Did God take you from us because He thought we loved you more than Him loving you…
or Is that He loved you more that He wanted you among the Chosen ones for His kingdom…
We four sons and our families will surely live with your dreams and make it come true…
We pray for you as we miss you a lot which words cant express…
We pray for all your 112 friends who were on board with you…
We pray for all families who have lost their loved ones in this flight…
We even now, believe that you are still there somewhere and not taken away..

HE IS SAFE AND WELL
You’ve los someone dear to you
You worry night and day
You feel you’ll never see him
that he has gone away
Please don’t worry anymore
he is safe as he can be
He’s surrounded by the angels
they are his family
So everytime you see
something beautiful and kind
He will have had a hand in it
You now have peace of mind.

When a loved one departs we can find consolation in celebrating their lives rather than mourning them; that when they were around us they did something remarkable and so we cannot forget them. Let this be the strength of relatives and friends the victims of KQ tragedy.

May God’s peace be with them.

It’s not easy to say “good bye” in such cases especially. Many things are replaceable, a plane, some foods and drinks, some fuel… but none of you guys. Take now your ease among the angels up there. You remain strong, smiling and filled with life in our hearts. We’ll surely hug you all again, and soon. Love
